✈️ Flying with NeoFlowArt LED Props: A Traveler's Guide for Performers and Creators
Whether you're a seasoned performer or a new LED prop enthusiast, traveling with your gear can raise questions — especially when flying. Don’t worry, it’s easier than it looks — here's everything you need to know to fly safely and confidently with LED equipment.
What’s the Issue?
LED props often contain lithium-ion batteries, which airlines regulate due to fire risks. On top of that, some gear might look unfamiliar to airport security, especially if it's large, oddly shaped, or packed in a hard case.

✅ The Good News
Yes — you can fly with LED props! You just need to pack and explain things the right way.
How to Pack LED Props for Air Travel
- Check them in: It's safest to place your LED props in your checked luggage.
- Add a note: Place a printed explanation inside your bag. It should say that your equipment contains non-removable lithium-ion batteries under 100 Wh, which is allowed on flights ( Section II of Article P1967 of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) )
Example of a Luggage Note inside
This bag contains professional LED performance props with internal lithium-ion batteries under 100 Wh, which comply with airline safety regulations. Contact: Your name, phone/email
Know These Things Before You Fly
- - Most props (like poi, staffs, and LED hoops) use batteries far below the 100 Wh limit. (about more than 30 times below limit)
- - Props with built-in batteries are treated the same way as laptops or cameras.
What If Security Stops You?
Stay calm and polite — that goes a long way. If your bag is flagged:
- - Explain that it’s performance gear. Be kind, smile, and act like a pro — you are one!
- - Mention the battery details.
- - Offer to show the note inside the luggage.
- - Ask to speak with a supervisor if needed.
